A dental bridge is used as a permanent replacement for one or more missing teeth. They restore your natural bite and prevent unwanted movement of the adjacent teeth and over eruption of the tooth opposite the gap. Not filling this gap can lead to biting and/or jaw problems, and may spur gum disease (periodontal disease).
A typical dental bridge consists of a filler tooth (pontic) that is attached to a crown (abutment). It is both aesthetic and functional and will safeguard the integrity of existing teeth helping to maintain a healthy and vibrant smile.
